词语用法
- ago是表示时间的副词,其基本意思是“以前”,表示事情发生在“从此刻算起若干时间以前”,也可以表示“事情发生距现在有多长时间”。简言之, ago的时间参照点是现在。
- ago在句中一般不单独使用,须与表示时间的名词或副词搭配使用,且要放在它所修饰词的后面。
- ago短语在句中修饰谓语动词时,该动词一般须用过去时态。但在某些固定短语或人们意识到所涉及的事情是过去发生的时刻, ago也可用于一般现在时,着重表示“到现在已有多长时间了”。当不仅表示动作发生,而且强调动作的后果时, ago可和过去完成时连用。在强调句型中,如强调ago短语,谓语动词be可用于一般现在时,也可用于一般过去时。long ago用于加强语气时,也可与现在完成时连用。
- ago短语在句中修饰非谓语动词或者句中有情态动词时,除可与一般时连用外,也可和完成时连用。
