adv. (副詞)
- already的意思是“較早地”“提前”,可表示“比預想發生的時間早”,也可表示“比可能發生的時間早”,含有“想不到某事竟然已經發生了”或“以為某事會晚一些發生”的意味。
- already一般用于肯定句中。與動詞搭配時,靜態動詞多用一般式,動態動詞多用完成式。表示與現在時間相比而已經做過的事,即by this time,須用現在完成時; 表示與過去時間相比而已經做過的事,即by that time,用過去完成時或過去進行時。already不用于一般將來時。
- already偶爾也可用于疑問式,或者表示驚訝、懷疑,或者表示期望〔預計〕有一個肯定的回答。
